Dig In Baseball coaches include partners Will Frazier and Steve Ballance . They bring varied accomplishments to Dig In Baseball. Combined, they have more than 110 years of high school, college, and professional baseball playing experience. Their coaching credentials span 80 years-plus, and they’ve collectively won dozens of championships and titles.

Will Frazier
Co-owner/Founder
Born and raised in Maryland, Coach Frazier is recognized for his leadership, mentorship, and dedication to developing amateur baseball in our state. Coach Frazier played at local powerhouse Riverdale Baptist under Hall-of-Fame Head Coach Terry Terrill. Will was a key member of multiple nationally ranked teams during his tenure at Riverdale, culminating in his being named a 1st Team All-Met by the Washington Post in 2001. Coach Frazier attended the University of Maryland on an athletic scholarship, where he was a 4 year starter -- Frazier currently holds the schools career doubles record, has some of the most extra-base hits, games played, total bases, hits, at-bats, RBI's, homeruns, games started, and runs scored.
Upon graduating with a Bachelor's in Kinesiology from Maryland, Coach Frazier immediately took his baseball knowledge and got into coaching and instructing local youth ballplayers. His coaching resume includes stops as: Assistant Coach at Riverdale Baptist HS, Assistant Coach (UMBC), Associate Scout for the Kansas City Royals, Contributor to Baseball The Magazine, General Manager of Maryland Baseball Academy.
Collecting over 15,000 hours of private instruction, Coach Frazier brings a deep expertise to Dig In Baseball, focusing on hitting, pitching, and catching fundamentals. Coach Frazier has been at the helm of Dig In Baseball since 2011, winning multiple national championships, coaching nationally ranked teams, and helping place hundreds of our players into college and professional baseball. He has also founded widely respected middle school and college showcase events that have helped players find their right fit for both high school and college advancement.

Steve Ballance
Co-owner/Founder
Coach Ballance has been coaching travel baseball for the last 25 years. 23 of those years he has also coached at the high school or collegiate level. He is currently the head varsity baseball coach at Good Counsel high school in Olney and has been there since June of 2022. The team has amassed 57 wins in 3 years and Calvert Cup Champions in 2025. Coach has found tremendous success in his coaching career with an overall winning percentage of 79%. He has 1 state championship (2004) 1 national championship (2021) and also he was named the 2009 Maryland Junior College “coach of the year” when he was head coach of Anne Arundel CC. That season the team had a then school record with 39 wins en route to being the MD. JUCO Champions. Coach Ballance has coached many players that have went on to play collegiate baseball including 6 former players who have or do play Major League Baseball. Coach has spoken 3 times at the national convention of high school coaches.

Jeff Rose
Director of Pitching
With over 30 years of experience developing and mentoring baseball players, Coach Rose brings a proven track record of excellence to his role as Director of Pitching. Throughout his career, he has helped athletes at all levels from youth leagues to collegiate prospects to refine their mechanics, build mental toughness, and reach their full potential on the mound.
Known for his detailed approach and deep understanding of pitching dynamics, Coach Rose combines cutting-edge training techniques with a strong emphasis on fundamentals. His coaching philosophy focuses on long-term development, injury prevention, and building a competitive mindset.
Whether working with beginners or elite athletes, Coach Rose is committed to creating an environment where pitchers can grow, compete, and succeed both on and off the field.

Robbie Metz
Instructor
Coach Metz leads our baseball program with the unique perspective of someone who’s competed at the highest level of the sport. A former Major League player, he spent two seasons with the Colorado Rockies, where he gained firsthand experience in the intensity, discipline, and teamwork required to succeed in professional baseball.
Now dedicated to developing high school athletes, Coach Metz brings that same passion and knowledge to the field every day. He focuses on teaching fundamentals, building strong team culture, and helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy emphasizes hard work, accountability, and passion for learning the game the right way.
Coach Metz is committed to helping players reach their FULL potential, whether their goals include playing at the next level or simply becoming better teammates and leaders. His professional background serves as both a learning tool and a source of inspiration for the athletes he coaches.

Randy Bednar
Instructor
Randy Bednar has been a teacher-coach-mentor for almost 40 years. He started coaching High School Baseball in 1993 at Dobbs Ferry HS in New York. He relocated with his family in 1999 to accept a coaching and teacher position at the Landon School in Bethesda, MD. He taught and coached there for 25 years and over 100 of his players went on to play collegiately. He won numerous IAC Championships as a head and assistant coach. His own son was drafted out of High School by the Atlanta Braves but took a scholarship to the University of Maryland where he went on to become an All-American and captain of the baseball team. After he graduated he played 3 years in the Seattle Mariners organization. Coach Bednar specializes in hitting and outfield instruction.

Danielle Nash
General Manager
Danielle keeps everything running smoothly here at Dig In. As General Manager, she oversees daily operations, coordinates events and programming, and works closely with coaches, staff, and families to make sure every player has the best possible experience.
With a strong background in sports management and a lifelong love of the game, she’s passionate about creating a positive, organized, and fun environment where athletes of all levels can grow. Whether it’s planning tournaments, supporting team development, or just making sure the lights are on and the fields are ready, she’s the go-to person behind the scenes.

Tori Nash
Facility & Marketing Manger
As Facility and Marketing Manager at Dig In, Tori plays a key role in both the operational excellence and public presence of the organization. She oversees daily facility operations, ensures all programs and events run efficiently, and leads strategic marketing efforts to promote the Dig In experience.
With a background in sports management and communications, Tori brings a unique combination of organizational leadership and creative marketing to the team. She manages everything from scheduling and logistics to branding, and social media, all while helping to grow the facility’s impact both on and off the field. With her attention to detail and passion for the game, Tori prioritizes creating a welcoming environment for our athletes, families, and coaches.
